Rise - Realise - Don't give up! || Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai

In this gem of a discourse delivered on 15 January 2023 on Makara Sankranti, Sadguru starts by quoting a profound verse from Kathopanishad (2.2.15) which He uses to explain that although the sun is worshipped in many countries for bringing goodness and life on earth, the scriptures take this concept to a level deeper. They say that the light of all lights is Consciousness; it is what gives us the ability to experience the sunlight.
He goes on to explain in-depth the meaning of Consciousness and the concept of Brahman and states that the only truth, is the Truth of Oneness.

More importantly, He says, that the knower of this Truth, becomes this Truth; for knowing the Oneness, is becoming the Oneness. This knowledge of Self manifests itself as the purest form of love for all, without expectations or conditions. Everything you see, all the projects that are currently happening, is a manifestation and expression of this Truth as love and service.

He further elaborates that living in this Truth as a brahmajñāni doesn't mean you withdraw from the world and become a hermit. On the contrary! More schools happen, more hospitals happen, more nutrition happens, spreading love and joy to others, and embracing everyone as yourself happens.

Sadguru then uses the Sankranti festival as an important analogy. He compares the northward movement of the sun, where the sun appears to be moving, although it is truly the earth that is moving, to Enlightenment (jñānodaya); which appears to happen to us, but truly we are always living in that Truth, only unaware of it. When we see through the eyes of Brahman, see everything as One, that is true Sankranti, He discloses.

He explains how there are two ways: one can know the Truth of Oneness and express this as love and service in society, or, one can start out serving in society, to develop that love, and through that, know the Truth of Brahman. Thus, all this service work serves only one purpose; to enable one to realise this Truth of Oneness.

Sadguru encourages us all to keep doing good, day and night, not to give up, and to keep striving until we achieve it!

Let us use this Sankranti festival to renew our efforts, and recommit ourselves to this greater cause of realisation of the Self.
