On day 13 of the trial of former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin, the defense's witness, a retired forensic pathologist named Richard Fowler, said George Floyd died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

BNC Legal Expert Candace Kelley joined "Start Your Day" to discuss Fowler's testimony. "He was crushed on cross," Kelley said, citing that Fowler did not even know if the car was running and no evidence supporting the claim was submitted. In the death of Daunte Wright, former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter was charged with second-degree manslaughter.

Kelley said it's a low threshold of manslaughter because police are planting the seed that her actions were accidental.
