Countering political turmoil with a real summer of love | Kester Brewin | TEDxExeter

Описание к видео Countering political turmoil with a real summer of love | Kester Brewin | TEDxExeter

Looking back at the Summer of Love, Kester Brewin draws parallels with our own time. Forty years on, social anxiety about political tumult again leads to a longing for escape. But Kester, a teacher, author and broadcaster, argues the answer lies not in getting high and dropping out, but in creating a new countercultural movement of peace and equality.

Kester Brewin teaches mathematics in South East London and is also an author and broadcaster. He has written and presented for BBC Radio 4, and spoke at TEDx Exeter in 2013 on Mutiny – his work on pirate culture. Kester more recently explored the history of the 60s - and its resonances for us 50 years later - in his acclaimed book Getting High, available here: http://amzn.eu/7eFHEMD
