This year for my birthday we went to North River Lake, in Algonquin Park. It is in the northern end, accessible from Canoe Access Point #26, on Brent Road. The launch is on the very narrow, and overgrown North River. The trip in took roughly 2 hours; we were in heavy rains, and had to traverse several beaver dams, but it was well worth it! The lake was beautiful and basically empty.

Joining me were:
Liz, in her Winner Strider 10 ft Fishing Kayak,
Trevor in his Swift Canoe 13'6" Hybrid Kevlar pack boat,
and myself in my 13'6 Carbon Fiber Pack boat

We were there for four great days, through thunder and sun. During those days we explored the whole lake, as well as walking up the portage to Merganser Lake.

We can't wait to go back!
Happy Paddling,
Mike
