Little and Large meet Bob Monkhouse

Описание к видео Little and Large meet Bob Monkhouse

Syd and Eddie discuss their very own brand of comedy on The Bob Monkhouse Show, originally broadcast on Monday, 11th February, 1985. This is when the duo were probably at the height of their success, pulling in millions of viewers every week with their sketch show, and here they talk about Eddie updating his out-of-date impressions. Well, Eddie talks about it. And talks. And talks. And at least three times, Syd has the floor with all the freedom in the world to regale an hilarious anecdote of his very own, yet passes on the baton to Eddie for him to tell the story instead. Know one's place, I suppose.

But fear not: in amongst all the jokes of the exact level you're expecting, the boys are invited to do their one genuinely amusing and original routine - the celebrities starting their cars skit. But now even that's off-limits due to the Jimmy Savile and Rolf Harris parodies! History really hasn't been kind to them, has it? (Syd and Eddie, I mean, not Jimmy and Rolf. Although them too.) Despite the blindingly obvious, I still have a soft spot for Little and Large, and always found them entertaining back then. I also find them funny today, but unfortunately not necessarily for the reasons they'd have wanted.

I bet they're loving this on the Cook'd and Bomb'd forum.
