As it turns out, the carb supplied with this engine has a fixed main AND idle mixture. Nothing wrong with that, it works really well on their drill and even on this conversion. However, we do want to be able to play with the top and bottom end mixture as we apply glow and diesel fuel to it.

So we made an adaptor and stuck on an OS .108 carb. The OS's bore is 2mm larger than the Tanaka's Walbro but despite this, we didn't gain any RPM. However, this was on a bitterly cold day, below freezing and lots of wind chill. After a bit of running, the OS carb was beginning to frost up. That didn't affect the engine's performance though. Top end was on par but the idle was 500 RPM above the stock carb. This may be due to the conditions, would have to run the engine with the Walbro under the same exact conditions to be sure. Didn't do it this day because I ran out of warmth despite being bundled up in my down jacket. Still we know that a stock, RC throttle will work. This included muffler pressure to the tank.
