Proses Belajar Tari Tenun Bali - Babak 1 & 2 | Dance Progress Weaving Dance

After almost 2 months of not dancing, I finally came back to revisit Tari Tenun. Half way through learning this dance now, and hopefully can be more consistent in taking classes and continuing to progress.

Here's where I'm at with the dance so far. I need to work on my facial expressions, and really need to get the choreography down so I can focus on feeling the gamelan more!

This dance, created in 1957 by I Nyoman Ridet & I Wayan Likes, portrays the movements of Balinese people as they weave fabrics.

Although the movements are slow, they are incredibly detailed and intricate. Every part of your body plays a role, from the angle of your head, the subtle arch of your eyebrows and intense focus of your eyes, to the graceful placement and movement of your hands all the way to your finger tips, to really tell the story of weaving.
