Kirat people celebrate UBHAULI and UDHAULI parba. These festivals are celebrated based upon their migration habit from lowland to highland during summer and highland to low land during winter. Kirat community during summer prepares land field, sow grains, plants crops and go uphill to escape from Terai heat. After sowing their land with crops, they enjoy this moment with their cultural dance, worship their forefathers, land, water, birds, animals (nature) and migrate to hill untill the winter arrive. As the lowland heat start dropping, they come down to lowland, harvest their crops, stores crops, worship their forefathers and nature and celebrates the moment dancing SAKELA or SAKENWA. And this time its summer, so kirat community celebrates UBHAULI and dance Sakela Silli. UDHAULI will be celebrated during winter (mangsir).
