Gudibanda is a place in Chikkaballapur district and approx. 110 Kms from Bangalore. There is a big grand Gudibande lake that welcomes you to the small town. The lake is such an attraction. A few kilometers from there is the fort. You need to climb up, may be a kilometer+. There are well built steps. The path and the rocks provide beautiful view, especially on top of the fort. There is a small temple at the peak, which was closed when we visited.
Very few travelers visit the place i guess, we started climbing at around 9, and there was no one else until we almost climbed down. Then we saw a small group climbing up. Place looks very safe, and no monkeys.
There are no big hotels in the town, but many small shops, a Nandini Parlor and bakeries for any urgent needs.
Take water, food if needed, while climbing up, as you will get nothing on the way.

Don't miss to stop near the lake for a while. There is a mud road which you can notice on the way, which takes you to the back side of the lake, through some farms. But, stop your vehicle where you feel difficulty of driving, and take a walk, as the road is not good. View is spectacular as soon as you start climbing Gudibande fort and Gudibande lake is a perfect Instagram picture place. This makes a perfect weekend getaway from Bangalore.
