Planet vs Plastics: Understanding the Human Health Implications of Exposure to Chemicals in Plastic

Описание к видео Planet vs Plastics: Understanding the Human Health Implications of Exposure to Chemicals in Plastic

Learn about plastics and health with an in-depth look at how the chemicals from plastics are impacting our health with an emphasis on personal care products.

Plastics are a part of our everyday lives, yet problematic to our planet and health. Most of the plastic waste that’s generated ends up in landfills, waterways, and oceans. Since plastic doesn’t biodegrade, it breaks down into minuscule pieces, also known as microplastics, that end up in the soil, water, and air. Eventually these microplastics
are ingested by animals and humans which can potentially alter hormone functions and significantly damage cells in the human body that can lead to serious health effects. The battle against plastics starts with us and the more knowledge we have, the more power we have.
