This War of Mine Review - From Video Game to Board Game

Описание к видео This War of Mine Review - From Video Game to Board Game

This War of Mine is set in a the midst of a bleak, wartorn city under siege; heavily inspired by the Siege of Sarajevo, one of the most gruesome and longest modern city sieges. Originally a video game published 6 years ago by 11 Bit Studios, players will control a ragtag group of civilian survivors, instead of soldiers like in most war games. The physical board game, published by Awaken Realms, retains gameplay mechanics such as staving fatigue, hunger, illness, and wounds. The tabletop version still retains the core round phase of sheltering during the day to avoid sniper fire and venturing out to scavenge for supplies at night.

A heavily story and thematically driven experience, This War of Mine features ever encroaching hardships and atrocities that survivors will have to endure. Random wartime events and situations will drain supplies like food, medicine, equipment, and weapons. Each character has their own unique stories that will intertwine with the bleak world as you read from scripts and draw cards that determine outcomes and roll dice to settle fights that you never wanted to happen, just like this war that was never yours.
