Today Asheville leaders announced new details in their fight to keep the city's water system. Mayor Terry Bellamy said the city has hired two Asheville law firms to file a lawsuit against the state legislature.The new law would put control of the water system under a regional authority and consolidate it with the Henderson County water systemA Buncombe County Senator says it's important to keep the system in the hands of the city.Sen. Martin Nesbitt, (D) Buncombe County, to move it from the possession of elected officials to an appointed board, where Buncombe County and the City of Asheville, if they voted together could not control it, is a taking of their assets and giving them to someone else. We must fight, and we must win, and we must keep this water system under the control of elected officials.
