Mike Pompeo and Nikki Haley have been snubbed for a spot in the new Trump administration after Donald Trump took to Truth Social to reveal he would not be asking either of the two to join his team.

Sky News host Sharri Markson has reacted to Donald Trump’s decision not to ask the two Republicans to join his administration.

“I think this is a deeply disappointing move – Mike Pompeo was the best of the best in the Trump administration,” she said.

“Now, I don’t want to be too judgemental until we see who Trump does appoint, but this seems to be a worrying sign about some of the influence of some of the isolationist figures who don’t understand that actually, America has a critical role to play as leader of the free world.”
