Hey guys! We’re back with another detailed tutorial on how to apply your falsies like a pro! So Grab a snack and get comfortable because we’re diving into the do’ and don’t mistakes and tips of applying false lashes.

Mistakes number one, applying your lash without measuring and trimming it to fit your eye. This is a very important step. Don’t wear your lash too long past your eye! Hold the lash up to your eye “without” any glue. This is just for placement and sizing purposes. All the excess at the outer corner is what needs to be trimmed. Next pop it back on to your eye to make sure you’ve trimmed enough. If you leave too much lash on the outer corner you’ll end up with that droopy look and no one wants that. Haha, it’s not sexy!

Mistakes number 2 is that you’re trimming from the wrong side of the lash. Oopps been there done that haha!
Make sure you’re trimming from the outer corner NOT the inner corner of the lash.

Mistake number 3. Curling your lashes before placing the falsies on. I used to do this and never realized that this little mistake alone was messing up my whole technique. You’d think it might make the blend easier but it doesn’t. It makes it difficult to pop that falsie in place because now your lashes are curled upwards where you’re trying to work. It makes dropping that lash onto your lash line extremely hard and they do not align the way they should.

Mistake number 4 is applying the lash too soon. What you want to do is apply a little bit of the glue to the spine of the lash, key word being a little bit! If you use too much glue it won’t be as undetectable and natural as you want. What we find helps with excess glue is applying it to the end of a makeup brush first and then gently gliding it on to the spine of your lash. It’s an extra step but it helps with glue control. And then the key to this is just to sit there snd be patient and wait for the glue to get tacky. It’s only about 20 seconds or so. So fight the urge to just jump in there and apply! Trust us it makes the whole process easier and it’s worth the wait!

This step also eliminates it sliding around and getting lash glue everywhere. Who’s been there before? I’m sure we all have.

Mistake number 5 is placement. Placing your lash on sideways can lead to a whole lotta wonkiness. Always come at your eye from the front. Hold a mirror in front of you, tilt the lash upward and pop it directly on top of your lash line. Then when you open up your eye you can totally see the lashes. They’re not wonky or droopy and the placement is perfect!
