Patrol Formation Basics: React to Contact

This video is a follow up to Patrol Formation Basics. If you haven’t watched that video, go check it out first.

As usual, this video is just dipping your toe in the water of small unit tactics, and really only covers breaking contact and peeling away. That is intentional. Additionally the terms, formations, etc. are streamlined for the first video, and DO NOT reflect a complete curriculum (it’s 20 min on YouTube guys, not a real class).

For more information on these types of tactics, you need to out to take courses. I honestly don’t know of anyone else in America teaching SUT to civilians, much less in the private sector. Blake Flannery heads up that program for us, with the main offerings being Small Unit Maneuvers(3 day), Small Unit Sustainment(5 day), and Fire and Maneuver (live fire, 4 day).
