The first in a trilogy, "Tidelands" is a departure for women's history expert, Philippa Gregory, who has mainly concentrated on women of high social status, Tudor queens etc - but now she has turned her hand to a woman of very low status, living on the edge of the country in the Tidelands, a shifting world of dangers. This is my review.
