John Richmond still has his punk touches, with some chain motives on jumpers. But the British fashion designer believes the real rebels hide in suit and tie he said before his show in Milan Sunday. (18 JAN).
"I think the real strong point is the suits, men in suits. You know, the rebels now wear suits and shirts and ties, rebels don't wear leather jackets and jeans anymore."
Flannel, velvet, checks and stripes are the fabrics he uses in the collection along with a sombre palette of black, grey, dark ocean and deep burgundy.
The geometric prints enhance the precise and well cut suits. Still, strong pop colors and animal textures like leopard, zebra, python, dragon are well recognizable signs of Richmond's work. The wardrobe also includes hints of sport. Sweat is a staple in this collection.
