K. C. Jones (born May 25, 1932 and died on December 25, 2020) was a prominent figure in American professional basketball, excelling both as a player and coach. He is most celebrated for his extensive tenure with the Boston Celtics in the National Basketball Association (NBA), where he clinched an impressive 11 out of his 12 NBA championships. His accolades include eight championships as a player, two as an assistant coach, and two as a head coach. Jones is recognized for his remarkable record, tied for third for the most NBA championships in a career and notably being one of only three NBA players with an unblemished 8–0 record in NBA Finals series. Distinguished as the sole African-American coach, besides Bill Russell, to have secured multiple NBA championships, Jones was rightfully enshrined into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1989.
