In this first lesson we discuss basic introductions, I talk a little about regional variation in the language and give some responses and basic sentences.

"Sé do/bhur bheatha"; you're very welcome (he is your(singular/plural) life)

"Do/bhur chéad/gcéad míle fáilte"; your(singular/plural) one hundred thousand welcomes

"Cén chaoi bhfuil tú"?; how are you? (Connacht)

"Cén chaoi bhfuil ag éirí leat?"; how are you getting on?

"Ag éirí"; to arise; to succeed; to "get on"
"Conas atánn/atá tú%?"; how are you? (Munster)

"Cad é mar atá tú?; how are you? (Ulster)

"Tá mé go maith"; I'm good

"Tá mé go measartha"; I'm okay

"Tá mé go uafásach"; I'm terrible

"Táim beo ar éigean"; I'm barely alive!

"Tá mé go maith go raibh maith agat, slán a bheithfeas tú"; I'm good thanks, may I be well.
