Hello, neighbor, this is Curt with Etrailer, and today we're gonna take a look at these cable tire chains from Titan Chain on our 2025 Hyundai Palisade. Now, if you've got questions about these chains or if you decide to go with them and you purchased them and you got some experiences to share, just leave those in the comments below. We'd love to share your stories with our other neighbors in order to help them make the best decisions for themselves. Now, when you're in your vehicle and you're coming across some adverse weather conditions or maybe you're planning a trip somewhere that requires you to have tire chains in the vehicle at all times, these cable chains from Titan Chain are gonna do a really good job on your Palisade. First and foremost, the Palisade does not have a whole lot of room in the wheel well, so it does require a Class S chain, meaning it's gonna be a much smaller chain than some of the others you might find on the market. And the whole reason for that is we don't wanna get any interference back here in the back with our suspension or around the wheel well itself.
But with that being said, these cable chains are in what they call a diagonal pattern. So as opposed to the regular ladder pattern that goes straight across or diamond pattern that creates diamond shapes in the middle, this is a little bit of a hybrid of both. So it is gonna help you out with your starting and stopping, and it's gonna give you better control around those turns. So the way this is going to work is that there is a cable that is wrapped in this wire, and there are several sections of it that are gonna roll and kind of float with the cable itself, but it is gonna help bite down into some of that ice and snow and even a little bit of that mud as you're going on down the road. They are pretty easy to install and they also come with their own rubber tensioners in order to keep them tight.
But with all that being said, let's take a minute and take a look at exactly how we got these on. Now, for our installation, first and foremost, you may notice that I'm wearing gloves right now. There's a couple of reasons for that. One, tire chains do tend to have some sharper edges that can pinch and cut you, so it's a good idea to have gloves on for protection. And two, generally speaking, when you are installing tire chains, the weather conditions outside most likely aren't at their best.
So being able to do it with gloves on is gonna be a tremendous help as well. But the first thing you always wanna do when you're about to install tire chains is lay them out flat and double-check that you don't have any twists, or kinks, or anything that'll otherwise not make them fit quite correctly. And if they are chains or cables that you've used in the past, you also wanna double-check for any damage that they may have taken the last time you used them. But as we've got it laid out, we want it laid out, you'll notice that one end of them is gonna be open in the middle. This is gonna be the side that's facing out from us.
The other end has a full cable going, that is gonna end up in the back. The other thing that we've done is to make sure that these attachments are laying face down, they do have an open-end hook on the other side, and we really don't want that going up against the sidewall of our tires. So being faced down like this, that's gonna ensure that that open-end hook is facing outward. But the first thing we'll do is go ahead and get this fed around the back of the vehicle. We'll just kind of shove it back there. We're gonna keep one of the open ends coming around the front, and then we'll reach around for the back and find that open end, which we'll have right here. Now we're gonna take the back of the chains, which is gonna have a hook on one end and a loop on the other. And we're gonna bring those up behind our tire, at which point we'll get them connected up here in the back. And once we get that connected, we'll kind of run it to the back and drape it a little bit. Now we've got this section here that we're gonna make our connection here, and all we really need to do is feed it through that loop, slide it over, and it'll connect.
