Ingredients

To Make Rice Chapati
Leftover Rice
Wheat Flour - 1 Cup
Salt - 1 Tsp
Oil
Ghee

To Make Tomato Curry
Oil - 1 Tbsp
Urad Dal - 1 Tsp
Channa Dal - 1 Tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 Tsp
Red Chilli - 2 Nos
Fennel Seeds - 1/2 Tsp
Onion - 1 No. Finely Chopped
Chopped Garlic
Curry Leaves
Green Chilli - 2 Nos Chopped
Tomato - 5 Nos Chopped
Salt - 1 Tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 Tsp
Chilli Powder - 2 Tsp
Water - 1 Cup
Sugar - 1/2 Tsp
Chopped Coriander Leaves

Method

For Leftover Rice Chapati:

1. To a mixer jar, add a bowl of the leftover steamed rice, salt and wheat flour.
2. Grind everything into a dough. Take it out into a large bowl and knead it by adding a little oil.
3. Keep adding the flour if the dough is sticky and knead it for 4-5 mins.
4. Once the dough is ready, smear oil all over it, cover the bowl and let the dough rest for 30 mins.
5. After the dough is well rested, divide it into equal parts and make them into small doguhballs.
6. Take each dough ball and place it on the rolling surface, dust it with a little flour and start rolling it into slightly thin chapatis.
7. Prepare all the dough balls in the similar way and keep them aside.
8. Now heat a pan and then place the rolled chapati on it.
9. Cook the chapati on both sides by applying a little ghee as you wish because they add a great flavour.
10. After the chapatis start forming rich brown spots on both sides, take them out and place them in a plate.

For Tomato Curry:

1. Take a wide kadai and add oil to it.
2. For the tempering, add urad dal, chana dal, cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
3. Once the mustard seeds start splattering, add in the roughly cut red chillies.
4. Saute and add the fennel seeds. Now add in the chopped onions and mix well.
5. Add in the chopped garlic and curry leaves. Mix again.
6. Once the onions are transparent, add in the green chillies and saute until the onions are golden brown.
7. Now, put in the chopped tomatoes and saute until they are nice and mushy.
8. For the seasoning, add salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder and mix well.
9. To this masala, add water, give it all a nice mix and then cover the kadai with a lid.
10. Cook the curry for 5 mins and then add in sugar.
11. Mix it all well and add in the chopped coriander leaves.
12. Turn off the stove and serve it hot with the soft and nice Rice Chapatis!
