Before RC...we had RAIL RACING CARS ! (1940s/50s Vintage English diesel engine powered racers)
It's fun to look back at what folks used for a hobby before radio control was invented and there is still significant interest in this equipment today. This was evident at Southern Model Show where Bill and Pat Langley were demonstrating their Rail Racing Cars. To me it looked like it took Bill significant skill and experience to get these cars running...but once started up the picked up some nice speed on the track. A welcome addition to Southern Model Show and I hope we get to meet them again next year.
