The contents of this video roughly correspond to the contents of chapters 3 and 4 (pages 7-11) of The Highland Bagpipe Tutor Book, published by the National Piping Center in Scotland. This video shows you how to understand and “read” the treble or G clef, and discusses the mnemonic devices (memory aids) shown on page 7 for memorizing the 5 notes on the lines and the 4 notes in the spaces of the (one, and only one!) 5-line musical staff or clef that pipers use, the G or treble clef.
