In 2022, The Law Society shared guidance on meeting the needs of vulnerable clients, highlighting the need for solicitors to adapt their practices to identify and meet the needs of clients who may be vulnerable, due to their personal circumstances and barriers put in place by society.

This webinar will explore the concept of vulnerability, supported decision making and the professional obligations of practitioners. The webinar will provide practical tips for dealing with clients who may be vulnerable, including those with communication difficulties and whose capacity may be affected.

It will be presented by Holly Chantler, an experienced older and vulnerable client solicitor with particular expertise in dealing with complex issues relating to mental capacity, financial abuse, powers of attorney, advance decisions and the Court of Protection (contentious and non-contentious matters).
