One day, in 2006, my cousin Mazen took me to a restaurant in Baghdad.
It was with him that I'd played "who can jump the highest"… and ended up in hospital.
The incident made an impression on him- that day, he decided he would become a doctor.

In 2006, the "militia war" was in full swing.
On the one side, Sunni militias were escalating their attacks against Shiite targets.
On the other, Shiite militiamen, often disguised as police officers, randomly abducted and executed Sunnis on the street.
