Hashicorp announced Terraform 0.13 in June with first beta shortly after and GA was released on 10th August. Regardless if you are an everyday or occasional Terraform user, there is exciting news and you are in for a treat with release v0.13! It builds on the powerful language improvements made with v0.12, with a focus on improved usability for module-specific workflows and enhancements to the rich and growing provider ecosystem with features we have been all waiting for!
In this talk we will be looking at what is in the new v0.13 release and what to look forward to. Besides awaited new modules improvements and provider syntax we will also focus on some other changes, such as simplified Terraform Cloud collaboration, a new stable validation rules feature and other improvements. We will do a live demo of major changes and show how to use it in practical examples. At the end we will also have a quick look at planning your upgrade with possible breaking changes and how to get started using v0.13 release.

Bio

Marko is a Senior DevOps Consultant at The Scale Factory. He has been working with AWS services and HashiCorp stack on a daily basis for the last 4 years, empowering a variety of different customer teams to improve their cloud workloads. He is an open source contributor, very passionate about automation and enthusiastic about new technologies. Also holds AWS, CKA, HCTA and RHEL certifications and competencies. Marko is also a fan of hiking, cycling, travelling and exploring new places.
