2017 Toyota Prius PRIME Plug-In Hybrid Test Drive Video Review

The Toyota Prius Prime combines the best of 2 worlds: electric car power with the ability to drive long range. The Prius Prime is available in 3 trims levels with prices ranging from $27,100 to $33,100. The Prime differs from the regular Prius in a number or ways including the exterior styling. Upfront the car is inspired by the Mirai with the large gills located in the front bumper. The quad headlights are reminiscent of luxury cars.

Under the hood is a 1.8 liter Atkinson Cycle 4-cylinder engine. Power output is 121 horsepower. The Prime has a total driving range of 640 miles with the batteries fully charged and a topped off tank of gas. But for short commutes the Prime offers 25 miles of pure electric range. Overall MPGe is rated at 124. Regular Fuel economy is 55 MPG in the city and 53 MPG on the highway.
