Описание к видео My Experience At HEC Paris, Cornell | Johann M, Monitor Deloitte, GMAT 770

Continuing his talk, Johann Matthai, Manager of Customer Strategy at Monitor Deloitte, touches upon how he approached the GMAT exam, and what your GMAT score can mean for you. From scoring around 650 in his first mock to 770 in the final GMAT exam, he talks of why it is important for Indians to score higher.

From there, he takes us through his experience at HEC Paris and Cornell. He explains how the course was designed in a way where he got the opportunity to do 1 year at HEC Paris, a 6 month internship, and then 9 months at Cornell. He got 2 wonderful b school experiences from 1 MBA program. He further delves at the kind of culture that exists in MBA programs abroad, stating that there is a lot more entrepreneurial spirit in these programs. He even talks of the MBAT, an MBA Tournament that HEC organises, which is so large in scale that students organising this event are pardoned 3 electives.

He even takes us through his internship at Jaguar Land Rover, and his project involving autonomous cars. Finally, he takes us to placements at HEC and why he chose to get into Luxury and Fashion.

Key Takeaways
1. The Indian and the Chinese Education System makes its students naturally good at mathematics, which is an advantage in exams like the GMAT.
2. There is a lot of competition to get into the top institutions in the world. Indian males need a higher GMAT score than other demographics to make it in.
3. Many international b schools offer courses where you can do 1 year at the parent b school, and then another year at a partner b school which may be situated in a different country. In Johann's case, it was HEC Paris and Cornell.
4.MBA programs in Europe are like a potpourri of culture, where students from all over the globe are put in one class. Diversity sensitizes you to work with people across the world.
5. Entrepreneurship is different in different parts of the world.
