Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has said that investigation into the alleged illegal sale of blood in the country is ongoing and that those found culpable shall not be spared. Kagwe revealed that a certain blood theft cartel was on the loose and was selling donated blood to countries like Somalia and other neighboring countries. This as the ministry of Health together with other stakeholders is seeking to have the National Blood Transfusion Service as an autonomous authority instead of a department in a Ministry.
