Pathrado/Pathrode is a very popular dish made during monsoon season in Coastal Karnataka region. Colocasia leaves (Pathra) grows abundantly as the rainy season starts and my mother would make it often. This is the version my mother makes and it turns out very soft and tasty. In a different video, I will share different ways to serve this pathrado. Generally fresh steamed pathrado is served as a side dish to rice with a generous drizzle of coconut oil. Ingredients:
Pathra leaves (Colocasia) - 6-7 big leaves
Sona masuri rice - 1 cup
Dry red chilli (Byadgi) - 7-8
Tamarind - Small lemon size
Grated coconut - 3/4 cup
Asafoetida (Hing) - 1/4 tsp
Salt - To taste
