The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, or CPTPP, has been hailed as one of the world’s most ambitious and wide-ranging free trade agreements. However, many issues still remain, such as the lack of U.S. participation, adding new members, and how the framework will work together with new trade partnerships. Our expert panel moderated Prof. Gordon Flake and joined by Wendy Cutler, Jonathan T. Fried, Shihoko Goto and Prof. Simon SC Tay will discuss about the CPTPP as a whole as well as Japan’s role in fostering vibrant global free trade.
