Hollan Holmes - Into The Fray

Описание к видео Hollan Holmes - Into The Fray

This is an experiment on a custom synthesizers.com Portable 88 analog modular system. The modular end of this performance (all of the sequencing) was recorded in one take. The accompanying drones, generated by a Dave Smith Instruments Prophet 12 and Reason's Subtractor .vst synth, were added afterwards, having been arranged within Reason 12. Final mixing was done in Reason and some clean-up (limiting and some EQ) was performed in Presonus Studio One IV.

Analog modular synthesis, while fun, is not for the faint of heart. It requires a degree of dedication and learning that can frustrate many, myself included. I bought this system ten years ago. I'm only just now (in the past 2 years) digging in and learning literally the ins and outs of this most amazing system. It continues to grow and evolve with my needs.

The musical composition, Into The Fray, is a combination of six individual eight note sequences, which are individually faded in and out in real-time using the Q113 eight channel mixer. Every sequence is fed through an individual state variable filter or a ladder filter, each of which is controlled both manually and by several Q167 LFO++ modules. This patch used up about 80% of all my cables and ALL of my three footers. I hope you enjoy it.
