South Africa: Zuma's MK Party Joins Opposition Alliance Against Ramaphosa | Subscribe to Firstpost

Cyril Ramaphosa has been elected as South Africa’s next President and although that breaks the country’s political deadlock, it marks his new chapter of rivalry with Jacob Zuma. Zuma's uMkhonto we Sizwe party will join an alliance of smaller opposition parties in parliament in a bid to take on the African National Congress and Democratic Alliance-led coalition government. Earlier, the MK Party had boycotted the first sitting of the National Assembly on Friday after filing a complaint at the country's top court alleging vote-rigging. But now, the party says it will join the alliance called the "Progressive Caucus", which includes the Marxist Economic Freedom Fighters and the United Democratic Movement.
