Bharati Airtel and airtel payment bank's eKYC license suspended by UIDAI

Bharti Airtel and Airtel Payment Bank eKYC license suspension, action of UIDAI.UIDAI has temporarily suspended their e-KYC license while taking strict action on Bharti Airtel and Airtel Payment Bank. At the same time, both companies will not be able to make e-KYCs based on mobile based customers based e-KYC process and payment bank clients.



This action has been taken after allegations of use of Bharti Airtel on base-EKYC based SIM Verification process for opening its payment bank account without the consent of its subscribers. UIDAI has made strong objections to the allegations, which are also being said to link such payment bank accounts for taking LPG subsidy.



According to sources familiar with the developments, UIDAI said in an comment order, "E-KYC license of Bharti Airtel and Airtel Payment Bank has been suspended with immediate effect."
