양규장군도 사용한 한국 전통 화살집(첩개) 제작과정 Traditional Korean Quiver Making

세계 최강이라는 한국의 활.
하지만 굴곡많은 근현대사를 통해 기나긴 세월동안 이룩되온 한국의 활문화가 대부분 사라져 버렸고 현재 남아있는 유산은 매우 적은 것이 사실입니다. 아직도 전통 활과 화살, 그리고 궁술이 남아있다는 것은 매우 다행스러운 일이 아닐 수 없습니다. 우리가 잃어버린 활문화 관련 유산 중 활과 화살 못지 않게 중요한 것이 바로 화살집, 활집 같은 궁술장비 입니다.

저는 화살집을 복원하기 위해 가죽공예를 시작했고, 현재까지도 이어오고 있습니다. 2011년부터 제작을 시작한 화살집과 전통첩개는 현재 보급형으로 개량하여 궁사들에게 보급하고 있습니다.
특히 2중 구조의 조선시대 첩개는 총포와 병참의 발달로 점차 사라졌으나
활을 기반으로 한 군사전력에서 매우 중요한 역할을 한 장비였습니다.
불행하게도 국내에 남겨진 유물은 그 원형을 되살리기에 부족한 점이 많아
해외로 반출된 유물 중 프랑스 Crepy 박물관에 소장된 조선시대 첩개를 기반으로 현재의 보급형 첩개를 제작하게 되었습니다.

The Korean bow is said to be the strongest in the world.
However, it is true that most of Korea's bow culture, which has been achieved over a long period of time through its twisty modern and contemporary history, has disappeared, and there are very few remaining heritages. It is fortunate that traditional bows, arrows, and archery still exist. Archery equipment such as arrows and bows is as important as bows and arrows among the cultural heritages we have lost.

I started leather crafting to restore this traditional quiver, and I have continued to this day. The arrow case and traditional Cheop-gae, which started production in 2011, are now being improved to a supply type and distributed to archers.
In particular, the double pocket structure of cheopgae during the Joseon Dynasty gradually disappeared due to the development of guns and logistics.
It was a device that played a very important role in the military force based on the bow.
Unfortunately, the relics left in Korea have many shortcomings to revive their original form.
Among the relics exported overseas, the current entry-level cheopgae was produced based on the Joseon Dynasty cheopgae stored in the Crepy Museum in France.
