Welcome to etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the CURT Adjustable Ball Mount for two and a half inch hitches. A nice feature of this ball mount is that you have two different balls to choose from, on top of the adjustability. We have a two and five sixteenths inch ball and a two inch ball here on the bottom. Our weight rating will change depending on which ball we have selected though. We have a 20,000 pound gross trailer weight, which is gonna be the total weight of the trailer you hooked up to and anything loaded up onto it.

And now our two inch ball is gonna have a weight rating of only 10,000 pounds. Our assembly here has a rise and a drop. In the drop position, which is here, you have a max drop of six inches. But, just removing the hitch pin and clip, we can flip this around to get a rise of five and a quarter inches. The holes along the assembly here allow us to adjust the height of our ball in one inch increments with the removal of these two pins.

We can get your ball set anywhere you need and even switch it around to choose which ball you want to use to couple to your trailers. We have six different positions of adjustability on the assembly for our ball. So that way we can get the perfect height for coupling to the trailer. On top of that, we have two hitch pin holes in the shank to choose from, so we can adjust how far we want our assembly to stick out from the back of the truck. Everything here is gonna be made out of a durable steel construction.

The shank assembly has a nice powder coat finish on here that's gonna hold up well to any kind of scratches, rough handling, getting in and out of the shank. And the balls themselves, along with these two pins, are gonna have a zinc coating to keep them going strong. All right, we're gonna take it out and couple it up to a trailer, so that way you guys can see what that process looks like. With the adjustability of the ball mount, we're able to get it to where we don't have to operate our jack as much as we would if it we're any lower. And we can get a nice smooth level towing experience.

And just like that, with everything hooked up, we're all ready to start towing. And you can see with this specific trailer, we're right in the middle of our range. But, say for instance we had a smaller lower kayak trailer, just as easily used that two inch ball, drop it all the way down until that one's just smooth and level as well.
