VW Solex 34 PICT-3 Float Level Adjustment

Описание к видео VW Solex 34 PICT-3 Float Level Adjustment

The inlet float valve of most VW Solex Carburetors uses thin spacer seal washers to adjust the fuel level in the float bowl. This is very important if you want to achieve maximum performance and economy from a stock style carburetor.
When trying to decide if you need a larger or smaller jet you can sometimes make a small float level adjustment to see which way to go. Raising the float will make the main fuel jet come in sooner (richer) Lowering the float slightly will make it come in later (leaner).
Example: If raising the float makes your car perform better you may want to go up one size on the main jet.
Note: Always correct your float level after testing.
Todays modern Ethanol fuels are slightly thinner than the fuel these carbs were originally designed for so it is automatically slightly richer by default.
A correctly jetted carburetor helps cool the head and intake valves.
To lean a mixture may save a little money on fuel but can cause the engine to run hotter and promote fuel detonation which will destroy or shorten the life of your engine.
