The Crowned Lapwing (Vanellus coronatus) previosuly known as the Crowned Plover, is a common garassland bird in Southern Africa, and can be found along most of the roads in the Kruger National Park.

The Crowned Lapwing has a wing span of over 75cms, stands 30cms tall and weighs around 200 grams.

This Crowned Lapwing was filmed close to Berg-en-dal, on the H3 tar road.
