Once a swarm arrives at a newly chosen homesite, it will usually disappear inside the cavity very quickly. As soon as the queen finds her way inside, most of the swarm will follow within 20 minutes.

However, if the queen has trouble finding the entrance, the process can be delayed significantly, and with a bit of luck, she can be captured before she finds her way in.

This video demonstrates the removal of a bee swarm from the side of a building.

It shows the capture of the queen bee and using her to lure all of the bees into a beehive box.
