Dodging and burning is one of those editing tools that can be done on so many levels of extremes from really simple to extremely complex. But realistically it doesnt need to be difficult to dodge and burn. You are simply brightening the highlights and whites and darkening the blacks and the shadows to create more contrast. It's as simple as that.

In this video I teach you how to make an easy preset that you can apply to any image in one click, whether you are in Lightroom Classic or Lightroom CC.
