In news around the league, the Edmonton Oilers locked up franchise forward Leon Draisaitl to an 8 year contract worth 14 million a year over that time. This contract will start in the 205/2026 NHL Season. It will also make him the highest paid player on the Oilers Roster. Team mate Connor McDavid will have a 12.5 million dollar cap hit over the next 2 years before he hits Free Agency.
