How To Integrate iSmartAlarm into Home Assistant

Описание к видео How To Integrate iSmartAlarm into Home Assistant

In this video I show you how to integrate an iSmartAlarm home alarm system into Home Assistant.
I've had an iSmartAlarm system since 2015 and have mostly been very happy with it. There were two main complaints from users in the beginning: lack of an alarm keypad, which the company addressed rather quickly, and lack of battery backup. I have addressed that myself by connecting my iSmartAlarm cube to a UPS so in the event of a power outage, my iSmartAlarm system remains unaffected. My internet router is also connected to a UPS, so internet connectivity is not lost either.
Since iSmartAlarm have not yet made their API public, there was no direct way to connect an iSmartAlarm system to Home Assistant. But as they allow IFTTT integration, I am going to use it in order to control my iSmartAlarm from Home Assistant. The same method should allow integration between iSmartAlarm and Smart Things. I have shared my automations that help me arm, disarm and trigger the panic alarm. I also created automations that flash the exterior lights when the alarm is triggered and also notify me by sending a Telegram message along with camera screenshots. iSmartAlarm is a great IoT alarm, it comes with door sensors, motion sensors and cameras. There is also a keypad and remote controls available. It can be controlled by IFTTT and Alexa, making it a great security system that doesn't require a subscription, unlike other systems such as Ring alarm security kit or ADT security system.
