mxdwn Interview: Kimbra on Creative Production & Writing Process of New Album "A Reckoning”

Greg Poblete interviews Kimbra for mxdwn.com. Kimbra’s fourth studio album, A Reckoning, shows fans how she has crafted an arrangement of songs that enables her to be the ultimate storyteller. mxdwn had the opportunity to interview Kimbra as her tour was coming to an end, a tour that has been an emotionally releasing journey. Without a major label, she was able to create a team that has kept her true to her fearless self. Alongside her co-producer, Ryan Lott, Kimbra created an album that has allowed her to flourish. While still holding a pop feel, the record is also daring and experimental. With Lott’s help she has been able to play with space and this has manifested into an album that is not only hard-hitting, charged and cathartic, but also deep, intimate and tender.
