Coronation Street star explains why Kit Green blackmails Beth
Kit Green is a corrupt police detective who has been working with Beth's former partner-in-crime Sid to sell dodgy t-shirts.
When Beth catches Kit involved in this illegal operation, he blackmails her - he gives her an ultimatum to get out of town by the end of the week or he'll ruin her son Craig's police career.
Actor Jacob Roberts, who plays Kit, explains that Kit has a massive ego and doesn't like being told what to do. So he wants to get his own back on Beth after she thinks she has power over him.
Kit has been manipulating Craig at work, leading Craig to open up about his own past corrupt behavior, such as covering up for his girlfriend Faye's involvement in a hit-and-run.
When asked if Kit feels any remorse for manipulating Craig, Roberts said Kit is just out for himself. While he does like Craig to some degree, he has no problem pulling out the "blade" (i.e. using the information against him) whenever he wants.
Overall, the storyline showcases Kit's ruthless and manipulative nature as he tries to maintain control and get the upper hand over Beth.
