Ler Htoo immigrated from Myanmar in 2009 when he was 18 years old. He lived in Saint Paul and attended Como High School before attending college. In 2014, Htoo became a Saint Paul police officer and not only was he the first officer of Karen descent in Saint Paul, he was the first known Karen officer in the State of Minnesota. There are approximately 20,000 people living in Minnesota from Myanmar and many of them live in our Saint Paul community.
