Video tutorial for "Preferred Design" (design published by Dell Medical School at University of Texas at Austin). This video is intended to illustrate and clarify this design. The mask is pleated, lined with sheer weight interfacing, has an adjustable nosepiece, an interior pocket for an N95 filter, and has cloth ties.

This "Two Color" version is actually a little easier to construct than the "One Color" version. The “Two Color” version has a different color on the interior so the user can more easily tell which side of the mask to put near their face. For the "Two Color" version the main piece is cut 7.5" x 9" and the lining is cut 7.5" x 7". The two seam binding pieces are cut 1.5" x 40" each (which yields about a 3/8" double fold seam binding tape).

Suggested modification: In the video I show how to finish the ends of the ties by folding the corners down and then folding the resulting point down and then folding the bias tape in half and stitching it. To cut down on bulk, I suggest CLIPPING the corners and then folding the resulting point down, etc.

It's also easier if you do the top stitching of the top seam then sew the bottom seam and turn the tube inside out BEFORE you do the fold-over tube for the pipe cleaner.
