Wrestling is hugely the second most popular sport in the land of Kush which has been wreaked havoc on by the civil war. Athletes say it is one of the few outlets where ethnic groups who have fought or been living in peace and harmony with each other can engage in a friendly competition.

Traditional wrestling brings peace as different people come from different places to meet and create friendship. Winning brings joy and losing is normal because it is not a real fight.

Matches draw huge crowds across the country and carry on sporadically during the conflict. Some wrestlers from pastoral communities where cows play a critical role in livelihoods and culture, smear their faces and chests with white and maroon ash from the fires of cow dung. Bright leopard/lion print cloth/skin, slashed into ribbons and dangles over their shorts.

In this video it was all about welcoming of wrestler known as Akol Agok in Bor town after their wrestling with Majok siko in nyang payam so this was wrestling between yirol East county versus Bor county and the wrestling peacefully as a draw between two counties
