The Sri Mala-haani-kareshwara (remover of demerits or paapa) Temple is a revered ancient Shiva temple in Sringeri, Karnataka. Sringeri is famous for being home to the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, the first center of Vedic learning established by Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya twelve centuries ago. He included this temple, mentioned in the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Brahmaanda Purana, as a vital part of the tradition of the Sharada Peetham at Sringeri.

Jagadguru Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam, the 37th Acharya of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham, wrote this composition on the occasion of the Kumbhabhisheka of this ancient Sri Malahanikareshwara Temple on Magha Krishna Saptami of the Shubhakrit Samvatsara (February 12, 2023).
