High School Dance Drill Team

Here is Katrina's dance drill team from her new high school - performing to the school's band's version of Funky Town. Katrina just joined the drill team this year (she had never been to a football game before she went to this school!) A drill team is a precision dance team - similar to the Rockettes of Radio City Music Hall. You can see Katrina on the front left side.

The drill team learns new routines throughout the football season. They do each dance twice - once for the home game and once for the away game. To be on a drill team, you need high kicks, the splits, good timing and good memory to do all the formations and routines. Katrina is having a lot of fun with this - football is the big high school sport in Texas.
