Complete explanation of how a bail can be cancelled and what are the legal provisions in this regard.
Cancellation of bail is provided under Section 439 (2) of CRPC but there is no format of application prescribed for the cancellation of bail. The court granting the bail should be approached for cancellation of the bail. If the bail has been granted by the Sessions court, the cancellation of bail application shall be filed before the same court. If the bail has been cancelled by the High Court or the Supreme Court , then the cancellation of bail should be filed before the same courts.

In large number of cases, it has been seen that the High Court takes suo motto cognizance and orders for the cancellation of bail. In many cases Supreme Court has taken notice and cancelled the bail by ordering for the cancellation of bail or anticipatory bail granted by any lower court.

GROUNDS
Grounds of the cancellation of the bail are not always the same but broadly the misuse of bail, the tampering with the evidence, coercing or threatening the witnesses or any other kind of misuse of the bail by the accused person is to be taken into consideration by the court and the bail can be cancelled on any of the said grounds.
